About
I am creating a feature documentary about my participation in the 2026 Golden Globe Race. Only 30 sailors are invited to partake and I am one of them. It's a 30,000 miles, solo, non-stop, around the world, retro race. Participants will only be navigating with 1968-era technology; this means no GPS, no computer, no phone, no electric anything. The challenge is pure and raw and likened to climbing Everest without oxygen. Imagine a 9 month odyssey in a 34 ft. boat in some of the most untamed parts of the ocean, guided by only the sun and the stars! In order to create the most compelling film possible, I have teamed up with cinematographers to rig my boat with cameras. For me this is more than a race—it's the embodiment of a dream and I hope the film invites audiences to reflect on what it means to take risks, embrace the unknown, and find beauty in solitude of nature. Ultimately, this film will celebrate the timeless allure of the sea and the indomitable spirit of those who dare to chase the horizon.
