About
WolfStar Project is an open source organization based in Italy focused on the development and maintenance of WolfStar, a powerful and stable Discord bot purpose-built for server moderation. Originally derived from Skyra (skyra-project/skyra), WolfStar has evolved into a dedicated moderation solution designed to meet the demands of the most rigorous server administrators — built, as the project states, for the Super Admin.
The core bot is written in TypeScript and relies on a solid infrastructure stack comprising PostgreSQL as the primary database, InfluxDB for anonymous usage metrics, and Sentry for error monitoring. Its moderation feature set includes over 15 distinct moderation actions, automated protection systems such as mention spam prevention, caps filtering, and attachment filtering, as well as comprehensive logging covering messages, moderation events, and member activity. Administrators may also configure custom welcome and farewell messages with dynamic placeholders. WolfStar currently supports English and Spanish, with additional languages planned and community-driven translation managed via Crowdin.
The broader WolfStar Project ecosystem encompasses several complementary repositories: stars-components (a shared utility library), staryl (a notification and social bot for the Star Network), wardrobe (asset management), cdn (content delivery network), and the official websites wolfstar.rocks and blog.wolfstar.rocks. The project is released primarily under the Apache 2.0 license and welcomes community contributions in the form of code, translations, and financial support through Open Collective.
