Web-Oriented Open Decentralized Systems is a private blockchain network meant to be a new platform
for storing, analyzing, validating, rating and operating on data that absolutely require trustless, fault-tolerant and scam-resistant environment to be computed (such as finance, ID, property, health, insurance, contracts, deals, track record, exchanges, voting, promising, etc.)
The idea is WOODS will have the first-class web API support (let alone blockchain and business logic parts themselves) and all developers and users can use it to get access to the network for computing and retrieving data without any conditions or restrictions. Now, all apps will be kind of PWA (in case of frontend) and kind of dApp (in case of backend). In addition, all computer-intensive (but not necessarily important) task can be moved outside the network.
WOODS is supposed to gradually:

- replace/complement all vital digital services (such as social networks, ID, and leasing/dating/sharing/banking/voting apps)
- change social communications/transactions (such as rating, selling, buying, sharing, dealing, making a promise, and especially to examine track record)
- mitigate the inefficiency of public institutions (such as judicial, legislative, and executive authorities) and lighten the load on them
- open and share the major part of any personal experience with others, and vice versa, making an open, reasonable, and fair society with a limitless flow of data creation/exchange;
- create a trustless and human-independent ecosystem through which people can and will be empowered
WOODS itself will be empowered by Rust programming language and its ecosystem (besides brilliant community and developers, of course).
