Support a rebel

The Extinction Rebellion movement organizes a mass event at the Autosalon on Saturday 18 January. Our action is part of a larger campaign (#boycottAutosalon) from a group of civil society organizations involved in mobility issues in Brussels.

We want the government to stop supporting an industry which is poisoning our children and driving ecological breakdown.

Why is a civil disobedient protest needed to address this?

It is our last resort, because our politicians failed us multiple times.

Here are some examples:

During this action, we will "tell the truth" loud and clear, and de-mask an industry that has been lying to us for over a century. 

Our actions are fueled by unpaid volunteers. Therefore we are completely dependent on your generosity. Specifically for this event, we need a large number of participants to be inside the Autosalon. The purpose of this crowdfunding is to reimburse entry tickets to our volunteers. Thank you very much for your contributions!

De Extinction Rebellion-beweging organiseert op zaterdag 18 januari een massa-evenement in het Autosalon. Onze actie maakt deel uit van een grotere campagne (#boycottAutosalon) van een groep maatschappelijk geëngageerde organisaties die zich bezighouden met mobiliteitskwesties in Brussel.

We willen dat de overheid stopt met het steunen van een industrie die onze kinderen vergiftigt en de ecologische achteruitgang in de hand werkt.

Waarom is een burgerlijk ongehoorzaam protest nodig om dit aan te pakken?

Het is ons laatste redmiddel, omdat onze politici ons meermaals in de steek hebben gelaten. Hier zijn enkele voorbeelden:

Tijdens deze actie zullen we luid en duidelijk "de waarheid vertellen" en een industrie ontmaskeren die al meer dan een eeuw tegen ons liegt. 

Daarvoor hebben we uw financiële steun nodig: 

Onze acties worden gevoed door onbetaalde vrijwilligers. Daarom zijn we volledig afhankelijk van uw vrijgevigheid. Specifiek voor dit evenement hebben we een groot aantal deelnemers nodig in het Autosalon. Het doel van deze crowdfunding is het vergoeden van toegangstickets voor onze vrijwilligers. Le mouvement Extinction Rebellion organise un grand évènement au Salon de l’Auto Samedi 18 janvier. Notre action fait partie d’une campagne plus large (#boycottAutosalon) d’un groupe d’organisations rassemblées autour des problèmes de mobilité à Bruxelles.

Nous exigeons du gouvernement qu’il cesse de soutenir une industrie qui empoisonne nos enfants et conduit à une rupture écologique.

Pourquoi la désobéissance civile est-elle nécessaire ?
 
C’est notre dernier recours, car nos politiciens ont échoué à de multiple reprises. Voici quelques exemples :

Pendant cette action, nous « dirons la vérité » clairement et à voix haute, afin de démasquer une industrie qui nous ment depuis plus d’un siècle.

Pour faire cela nous avons besoin de votre soutien financier :

Nos actions roulent aux efforts de bénévoles. Nous dépendons donc de votre générosité. Et plus spécialement pour cette action, nous avons besoin d’un grand nombre de participants à l’intérieur du salon.
