YIP's Own Giving

Do you believe in our vision of "values-led philanthropy, shaped by young people, for an Aotearoa where communities hold power"? Put your pūtea where our vision is, and help us grow a pool of funding for rangatahi to decide on.

YIP's Own Giving is about devolving funding decision-making to rangatahi, working in and around philanthropy. Our goal is to build this funding pool to at least $20,000, then we'll pull together a diverse group of rangatahi, supported by YIP members familiar with good philanthropic practise, to experiment with how that funding is given.

We don't know yet, that's for the rangatahi to decide - we need to reach the fundraising goal first.

The main reason to donate is because you want to learn. We'll take our donors along for the ride by giving you regular updates in creative ways. You'll be part of the journey to see what the future of philanthropy might look like when it's led by rangatahi, and the power and process is put into the hands of the next generation.
