More v4.2 updates
Published on December 28, 2021 by Dimitris Panokostas

Hi everyone!
Just a quick update, to get you all onboard with the latest improvements on the upcoming Amiberry v4.2. These are the additional changes since the previous update:
  • Implemented support for GPIO pins, to control LEDs for Floppy, HDD and Power activity. There is a wiki page with documentation on how to set this up here: https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Using-GPIO-pins-for-LEDs - This is an area that can have more improvements in the future (e.g. configurable GPIO pins).
  • Minor GUI improvements and fixes, such as the DF1: floppy drive type not being hidden when CD was selected, navigation improvements, etc.
  • Implemented Input Recording from WinUAE.
  • Implemented support for hot-plugging controllers. You can now plug-in or remove a controller while Amiberry is running, and the controller list in the Input panel will be updated automatically, while mappings will also be re-loaded when you do so.
  • Implemented Disk Swapper functionality, from WinUAE. The GUI only holds 10 slots for now, instead of the 20 WInUAE has, due to size limitations. This might be improved in future updates (e.g. with Tabs or a scrollbar). The shortcuts are identical to WinUAE, e.g. you can use END + 1 to 0 keys to swap disks on the fly. The GUI allows you to add disks in the slots and insert them in the drive(s).
  • Fixed a bug where hotkey combination using the WIndows/Command key did not get recognized.
There may be some more improvements or bug fixes before the next release, so I'll let you know accordingly with another status update. :)
Until then, I hope you have a great time with your family, friends and those you love.

Have fun!
Dimitris
