archaeo.social is a collective that provides open, federated social media infrastructure for archaeology. We use free and open source software to promote a 'do it yourself' approach to scholarly communication and lessen our field's dependence on centralised, proprietary platforms.
We currently maintain:
- archaeo.social – federated micro-blogging with Mastodon
- chat.archaeo.social – instant messaging with Matrix and Element
Your contributions to archaeo.social will be used to cover the operating costs of these services, build a reserve to ensure sustainability in the long term, and contribute to the upstream projects that support us (e.g. Mastodon and the Black Trowel Collective).
