Community Response Kits

To make public access defibrillation, bleeding control, and overdose reversal accessible to spaces that would otherwise be unable to afford these resources.

About

The Community Response Kit is a collection of life-saving supplies that give a sufficiently trained lay rescuer the ability to save a life in the event of a medical emergency or life-threatening injury. The kit includes the following supplies:
  • An AED:
    • A functional AED device programmed with the latest available firmware to facilitate American Heart Association guidelines-compliant basic life support.
    • A set of unexpired therapy pads.
    • A charged and functional battery.
    • A prep kit containing shears, a razor, latex-free gloves, a face shield, and gauze or cloth.
  • Naloxone. 2 doses of at least 3mg pre-dosed and deliverable via intranasal route that doesn’t require a layperson to draw medication from a syringe.
  • A bleeding control kit containing, at minimum:
    • A tourniquet and permanent marker
    • An elastic bandage
    • Wound packing gauze with an integral radiolucent strip
    • An emergency blanket

The program will train kit recipients on how each component of the kit is used, including how to provide high-quality CPR.
