Meet Barter Up
Here at Barter Up, we want to prove that a world can exist where your basic needs are met, without being tethered to money and capitalist systems. Through collaboration and mutual aid, we will build a community that freely gives and freely receives.
We hold monthly informational meetings, and a monthly marketplace where goods and services are exchanged in person, and donation drives where we donate the items from the marketplace back to a community that needs it.
We are based in Memphis, TN., and will one day be hosting events in a city near you <3
Who Are Barter Buddies?
Barter Buddies are our Memphis residents who attend a monthly informational meeting to learn how they can be of service to others. A Barter Buddy may also trade goods and services at monthly pop ups, use the Barter Up social media space to collaborate, and volunteer at Barter Up events. Sign up to become a Barter Buddy today!

Who are Barter Gen?
Barter Gen are our non-Memphis residents who are the next generation that believes in actively contributing to the survival of their community members. They donate to mutual aid funds, actively trade goods and services, and boost social media posts when their Barter Buddies are in need. You also have an opportunity to be featured on the Barter Up socials as a verified barterer!

Every month we donate cash and non-perishable goods from our marketplace to people in need of support. Donations go towards expanding Barter Up, maintaining the safety of our community, and mutual aid donations to members of our community <3
