Valencia Needs Us

The recent DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) storm has left parts of Valencia devastated by severe flooding, impacting communities, homes, and essential infrastructure. To support the ongoing relief efforts, the Valencia Needs Us project, under the BCN Engineering org umbrella, aims to provide a transparent and effective way to help those affected and those working tirelessly on the ground. 

 

This project focuses on two main goals: 

 1. Supporting Volunteers: Many dedicated volunteers are offering their time, skills, and resources to aid Valencia’s recovery. To ease their financial burden, this fund allows volunteers to submit expense claims for eligible costs, ensuring they can focus on their work without the worry of personal financial strain. The list of reimbursable expenses, subject to modifications to adapt to new requirements, is:

All submitted expenses will be always subject to approval by the org admins and the Open Collective fiscal host (Open Collective Europe)

 2. Direct Funding to Trusted Organizations: This fund also directs contributions to trusted organizations already working on the field in Valencia. These organizations are instrumental in delivering resources, coordinating recovery efforts, and providing on-the-ground support to affected communities. 

 

Thanks to the Open Collective platform, we ensure full transparency and accountability. Every donation, expense, and allocation is publicly visible, giving contributors confidence that their support is making a real, measurable difference in Valencia’s recovery.
