About Blessed to Bless Life Ministries Introduction Blessed to Bless Life Ministries (BBLM) is a Youth Refugee-Led Non-profit Organization established in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, Uganda. The ministry is dedicated to uplifting vulnerable populations, particularly refugee children and youth, through various initiatives focused on education, youth empowerment, environmental conservation, and spiritual growth. Founded by Jure Castro Iraguha, a Congolese refugee orphan and passionate leader, BBLM was inspired by the vision of creating a platform where lives are transformed through compassion, collaboration, and innovation.
BBLM emerged as a response to the pressing challenges faced by refugees in Kyaka II, a settlement that hosts thousands of displaced individuals from diverse backgrounds. Refugees here often grapple with limited access to education, lack of sustainable livelihoods, inadequate healthcare, and the psychological scars of displacement. Recognizing these challenges, Jure Castro Iraguha, who has lived through similar experiences, envisioned an organization that not only addresses immediate needs but also fosters long-term community development and personal growth.
At its core, BBLM seeks to create a holistic approach to empowerment by addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the refugee community. Its mission is guided by the principle that every individual has the potential to rise above adversity and make a positive impact when given the right support and opportunities. The organization’s name, "Blessed to Bless Life Ministries," reflects this belief: by blessing others, the cycle of transformation extends, creating a ripple effect of hope and change.
Since its inception, BBLM has distinguished itself as a youth-driven movement, with its programs and initiatives tailored to nurture young people as agents of change. The organization not only provides services but also involves the youth in leadership, planning, and execution, ensuring that they are empowered to take ownership of their futures.
Under Iraguha’s leadership, BBLM has adopted a multifaceted approach to its mission:
Education: Recognizing that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, BBLM works to ensure that refugee children have access to quality education. This includes enrolling children in schools, providing school supplies, and advocating for inclusive education for children with disabilities.
Youth Empowerment: BBLM focuses on equipping young people with skills and opportunities to become self-reliant. Programs such as vocational training, mentorship, and talent development are designed to harness the potential of the youth and prepare them for meaningful contributions to society.
Spiritual Growth: With faith as a cornerstone of its work, BBLM emphasizes spiritual enrichment through preaching, discipleship programs, and social media campaigns aimed at spreading messages of hope and encouragement.
Environmental Conservation: The organization integrates sustainability into its activities, promoting initiatives such as tree planting and community cleanups to protect and restore the local environment.
BBLM’s foundation is not only built on addressing immediate challenges but also on fostering resilience and self-sufficiency among refugees. The organization’s work is deeply rooted in the values of compassion, integrity, and inclusivity, ensuring that its programs are accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, or background.
Looking to the future, BBLM envisions a thriving refugee community in Kyaka II and beyond—a community where young people are educated, empowered, and inspired to build better lives for themselves and others. This vision is carried forward through strategic partnerships, volunteer programs, and a commitment to transparency and accountability in all its operations.
Through its dedication and innovative approach, BBLM continues to inspire hope and transformation, proving that even in the most challenging circumstances, a brighter future is possible.
Our Mission: To empower children, youth and communities through education, mentorship and practical support ensuring that each individual we serve experiences love, dignity and opportunity. Our Vision: To see a world where every child and youth achieves their fullest potential and contributes meaningfully to the society.
The Birth of Blessed to Bless Life Ministries
BBLM was officially established in response to the pressing needs of refugees in Kyak a II Settlement. With a growing population of displaced individuals facing limited access to education, livelihood opportunities, and spiritual support, Castro recognized the urgent need for a holistic, community-driven approach. As an orphan who experienced the struggles of displacement firsthand, his vision was clear: to be a blessing to others and empower them to bless others in return. This philosophy of reciprocity lies at the heart of BBLM’s mission.
