About
What is the Book Project?
The Book Project is a web app that is a platform for book readers. It lets you keep track of books you:
- would like to read,
- are currently reading,
- have read,
- and did not finish
We also envision users sharing and keeping track of what their friends are reading, connecting with their favourite authors and forming reading groups.
It's like Goodreads but better: a much nicer user interface (i.e. it looks nicer), implementing features that users love and we're privacy-conscious not owned by Amazon.

Why we need funding
Your financial support goes to ensuring we are able to pay for cloud hosting costs. These bills are often prohibitive for us to pay out of our own pocket.
Current costs
- Approximately $10/month to run our frontend in a container
- Approximately $10/month to run our backend in a container
- Approximately $7/month to run our development database in a container
