Asylum Seekers Fund

New York City is required by law to provide shelter to anyone seeking asylum, but these “shelters” are insufficient at meeting the daily needs of human beings. Often just a dense arrangement of cots in an unfinished commercial building, recent shelters have opened with no showers, and single toilets for hundreds of people.

Asylum seekers are requesting basic items such as bottled water, soap, deodorant, shampoo, towels, t-shirts, socks, and underwear. 

Bushwick Ayuda Mutua has set up this fund to direct resources to these efforts, while not taking away from our on-going work providing food and social services to Bushwick families.

This is a rapid response effort and we will be deploying these funds to meet the needs of these New New Yorkers. If you would like to get more involved in these efforts, contact us here.

La ciudad está obligada por ley a proporcionar refugio a cualquier persona que solicite asilo, pero estos "refugios" son insuficientes para satisfacer las necesidades diarias de los seres humanos. Bushwick Ayuda Mutua ha establecido un fondo para dirigir los recursos a estos esfuerzos, sin restarle valor a nuestro trabajo regular proporcionando alimentos y servicios a las familias de Bushwick.
