Science, history and humor are packed into this mini-comic/zine (10 pages + front & back cover). “The Adventures of Mo Mussel” (as told to artist Priscilla Stadler) helps readers of any age learn about Newtown Creek, NYC’s largest Superfund site. For example, a mussel can filter up to 15 gallons of contaminated water per day, but Mo Mussel still wishes she could swim. Newtown Creek divides Queens and Brooklyn and is located near the Biotech lab.
