About

The Family Support Mission (FSM), led by Collective Action for the Diaspora (CAD), is an urgent response to an often-overlooked crisis: the welfare of families supporting Gaza’s humanitarian heroes. Aid workers, medical professionals, and journalists sacrifice their well-being daily to serve communities, often leaving their own families vulnerable. This mission directly addresses the on-going needs of over 100 families, ensuring they remain resilient and supported during unprecedented challenges.

The Critical Need
  • Food Insecurity: Over 90% of Gaza’s population now faces famine-like conditions, including the families of aid workers who forgo economic stability to serve others.
  • Psychological Strain: Separation, insecurity, and the stress of survival impact children and adults in these households.
  • Resource Scarcity: Basic necessities like food, hygiene supplies, and water are inaccessible to many.

Program Highlights

    • 18,000 meals distributed over four months, addressing malnutrition for over 100 families.
    • Monthly support packages include grains, proteins, vegetables, hygiene products, and clean water.

  2. Emergency Support:
    • Assistance with medical needs, shelter, and transportation for critical relief efforts.
    • Stabilizing family units to preserve their dignity and mental health.

  3. Children’s Support:
    • Resources and psychological aid for 450+ children, helping them overcome trauma and continue learning.

Expected Impact
  • Reducing Hunger: Over 500 individuals supported monthly, mitigating long-term health risks.
  • Strengthening the Humanitarian Network: By sustaining aid workers’ families, FSM ensures essential services remain uninterrupted.
  • Community Resilience: Families receiving aid report 46% reduced stress, fostering hope and stability in devastated communities.

Innovative Approach
  • Local Sourcing: Food and supplies are purchased from trusted local vendors, reducing costs and stimulating Gaza’s economy.
  • Direct Delivery: Aid is distributed through efficient networks, ensuring timeliness and security.

Budget and Resource Utilization
  • Basic Monthly Support Packages: $700 per family for food, water, and hygiene supplies.
  • Emergency Packages: $800 per family, including medical aid and shelter assistance.
  • Logistics: Local transportation ensures supplies reach families despite fuel shortages, averaging $100 per delivery.
