At Chicago Community Arts Studio (XCAS) we believe that the arts are essential for everyone to experience mental and emotional well being. We only have to look at how much people relied on the arts during the time of COVID stay at home to recognize this fact. For XCAS, it is important to provide opportunities in our neighborhoods that have been traditionally underserved so that families in these communities can have better outcomes. We believe that as we help people develop their skills and process their feelings, all of us benefit by having more well rounded and emotionally secure people around us.
