A real-time AI-powered music collaboration tool that enables multiple users to co-create music live in their browser using WebGPU-accelerated AI synthesis. This project will contribute to the advancement of AI-powered audio tools on the web, integrating WebRTC for real-time collaboration and Chrome’s Prompt API for conversational music editing. It aligns with the Web AI Fund's focus on enhancing AI libraries for the web and optimizing AI performance in browsers.

1. AI Model Development & Optimization (WebGPU-Accelerated AI Synthesis) – $25,000 
  • Train and fine-tune AI models for real-time music generation & manipulation in-browser.
  • Optimize AI inference using WebGPU to ensure low-latency playback.
  • Implement local-first AI processing to reduce dependency on cloud computation.

2. WebRTC-Based Multiplayer Collaboration – $5,000
 
  • Develop a real-time collaborative music editor where multiple users can create music together.
  • Implement WebRTC-based audio streaming for synchronized playback across users.
  • Add session persistence (users can join/leave without losing progress).

3. Frontend & UX Development – $8,000
 
  • Design an intuitive drag-and-drop music creation interface.
  • Implement real-time visual feedback for AI-generated changes.
  • Ensure mobile and desktop compatibility for accessibility.

4. Backend & API Development – $8,000
 
  • Set up server-side components for handling WebRTC signaling.

Expense policies

We process expenses twice a week after an admin of the Collective has approved them. We make payments via PayPal and Bank Transfer (using Wise) and can only make payouts to countries served by these payment processors. You are not required to upload an invoice document (the data you submit in the expense form is sufficient), but if you would like to include an uploaded invoice, please make it out to:

How do I get paid from a Collective?
Submit an expense and provide your payment information.
How are expenses approved?
Collective admins are notified when an expense is submitted, and they can approve or reject it.
Is my private data made public?
No. Only the expense amount and description are public. Attachments, payment info, emails and addresses are only visible to you and the admins.
When will I get paid?
Payments are processed by the Collective's Fiscal Host, the organization that hold funds on their behalf. Many Fiscal Hosts pay expenses weekly, but each one is different.
Why do you need my legal name?
The display name is public and the legal name is private, appearing on receipts, invoices, and other official documentation used for tax and accounting purposes.
