Mock Orange (Philadelphus tormentosus) being enjoyed by the bees - picture
Published on June 2, 2024 by Kirsty Harper

 Mock Orange (Philadelphus tormentosus)
It is lovely to see that the Philadelphus tormentosus, the species plant of the commonly called 'Mock orange' which is in the centre of the lavendar garden is in flower this year and is, as suggested, being enjoyed by the bees.  It is very gratifying to see that a plant has been well chosen for the site in terms of attracting the bees and also the suitability for the location in terms of size and exposure to the weather, as  all the plants were planted with a long term view in mind.

Lovely. This is the time for the mock orange. Does it smell of oranges?
