Clean and Green

Clean and Green was initially formed in May 2021 following a successful project proposal submitted by Hollycot Gardens- Camrose Croft Corner neighbourhood to Neighbourhood Watch. The trigger for our work is to identify flytipping hotspots and littering hotspots and clean them and transform them into Organic lavendar gardens which are architectural in design and occupy the space in such a way this is no longer available for flytipping and dropping litter and other debris. Out of this, we are in turn focussig on Biodiversity - our organic planting has the aim to improve biodiversity in particular for insects, bees and birds as well as planting medicinal plants. This in turn improves Community Wellbeing. Activities by neighbours have included watering, planting, foraging cherries and apples and much more.   The project was initially live for six months following the receipt of the donation of £314. The project aims to improve the community environment, increase biodiversity, community wellbeing,  raise animal welfare awareness and reduce crime. Five years on, we now have five Micro-organic Wellbeing gardens which have been designed on wasteland that was previouly used for flytipping.
