Hello Coffees for Gaza community,
 
It's almost time for Peacetober 2026, and we'd love for you to join in our 3rd annual artivism challenge in solidarity with our families in Gaza. In this email, you'll find this year's prompts for the month-long event and the ways you can take part.

We have switched to a Family Sponsor model in order to make our work more sustainable for our families and volunteers.  If you have not already done so, please fill out this Family Sponsor form as soon as possible so that we can match you with a particular family. You can then cancel your monthly donation here on Open Collective. 
 

When you look at your bank or credit card statement, if you see a transaction each month to Coffees For G.za, then you are still making your monthly gift through Open Collective. We will be closing down this platform soon, and your action is needed. We cannot switch you over to our new Family Sponsor Program ourselves, so please fill out this form so that we can match you with a family.

If you see a monthly donation on your bank statement that starts with Chuffed or GoFundMe, then you have already made the switch to the Family Sponsor Program. Thank you so much!!

Fill out this form, and a volunteer will be in touch with you within a week or so. You'll be matched with a particular family, with instructions on how to make a monthly gift to that family's Chuffed or GoFundMe campaign. We'll also give you instructions on how to cancel your Open Collective monthly donation. 

  

The Family Sponsor model will make a big difference both to our families and to 3 of our key volunteers who currently do a massive amount of work allocating monthly donations to families each month.

Because you'll be matched with a specific family, we hope this will give you a chance to develop a greater connection with them.

We have struggled greatly to recruit new volunteers, and three of our key leaders are experiencing exhaustion. By switching off of Open Collective to the Family Sponsor program, you'll lighten their workload.  

 
This October, Coffees for Gaza will hold our third annual Peacetober artivism challenge. This is our biggest community event of the year, bringing together volunteers, supporters, and newcomers who take part in a month of art, advocacy, solidarity, and fundraising for the 25 families CFG is in relationship with.

Throughout October, you're invited to join us in making all sorts of art - paintings, sketches, illustrations, embroidery, fiber arts, tatreez, sculptures, poetry, song, and more based on daily prompts. All are invited to donate their artworks to an fundraising auction to be held in November.

You don't need to a "professional" artist or artisan to participate, and we've also had people of all ages (including little ones) join the challenge. You can make something in response to 1 prompt, a few of the prompts, or all 31!

This is our 3rd Peacetober, and we are both heartbroken by its necessity but heartened by our community. Palestine deserves to be free, and we will not stop, we will not forget, we will not give up on the rights of Palestinians to a life of peace and liberation.
