Hello! This page is to centralize resources for the Community Food Support Initiatives on Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ territories.
These initiatives include our volunteer-run; hamper program and the community fridge located at 2725 Rock Bay Ave, Victoria, BC.
According to Vancouver Coastal Health, approximately 1 in 10 so-called British Columbia could be considered food insecure and around 40% of food produced is wasted or lost. COVID-19 has only exacerbated this pre-existing food insecurity and inequality within our communities. We aim to support folks in accessing food while making the process as barrier free as possible. Everyone in the community deserves access to healthy food.
Our goal is to make food free and accessible to those who need it. This is a community response premised on mutual aid rather than charity, we are not a non-profit or a business.
