Individual Sponsor

Right now, Conjured Ink is a relatively loose collective of individuals from all over the world trying to do something nice by contributing to an open source project and various supporting roles.

Your sponsorship means that we will be able to go from that, to a more formal organization, with a legal entity, that is able to take on more fiscal responsibility for a variety of ideas we have, that would otherwise be inaccessible to a simple open source project.

Legal entities in the United States can cost roughly US$7000 to form, given some leeway, and about US$3000-US$4000 to maintain on a yearly basis, including our relatively light hosting and service costs, even while keeping us all as volunteers.

Longer-term, we would also like to be able to compensate workers in our collective (by then, a proper co-operative) for various tasks, or even have them on as part-time or full-time employees! By then, we might have more ways to make money, though, which... we'll need an entity for! :)

Please consider helping make this possible. Self-directed organizations like these are often robust, but the most difficult part of starting and sustaining them is finding funding in a world where Capitalism demands that any investment become exploitative. What we can promise you is that we'll do our very best to make sure that every contribution you share with us goes towards making our mission of enabling greater protection and freedom for all visual artists, musicians, writers, and other creatives, including traditionally neglected people like SWers through guides, community, and of course, software.
