Providing Continued Resettlement Support: Aid Shipment to Atlanta, GA
Published on February 23, 2022 by Taylor Fairbank

Last week we were able to support our fellow collective, ATL Survival in Atlanta, Georgia, with essentials for their community. ALT Survival supports marginalized and underprivileged communities with food and housing, and is supporting Afghan individuals and families along with other people resettled in the Clarkston neighborhood. The photos included in this post are from a Clarkston distro reaching resettled families.

The mutual aid organization distributes all types of essential items, but primarily focuses on sourcing food donations. They even provide doorstep grocery delivery to people in need! They also devote their efforts to equipping people with the necessary tools and resources for self-advocacy.

Distribute Aid was able to use our aid matching process to allocate some of the remaining items from the demobilization of Fort Pickett to ATL survival. The organization received around 100,000 items through the shipment, including food, hygiene, educational materials, and toys.

To the ATL Survival team: We hope the items will serve your community well, and we're thrilled to see you supporting resettled Afghans!
