Providing Continued Resettlement Support: Aid Shipment to Omaha, NB
Published on February 24, 2022 by Taylor Fairbank

Last week we were extremely happy to be able to support Omaha Autonomous Action (OAA) with an aid delivery! In total, they received almost 40,000 items to support the local community in Omaha.

All hands on deck! Omaha Autonomous Action with some of the aid from the shipment. The image shows a man wearing all black standing in an almost emptied out truck.

OAA runs a street kitchen and an on-call survival program for unhoused and housing insecure individuals in the Omaha area. They not only hosted their own aid distribution, but also shared the aid with local refugee organisation Restoring Dignity to ensure that the supplies we sent on this shipment will go toward helping their new Afghan neighbours get settled in Omaha!

OAA told us that they "will use this opportunity to connect with our newest neighbors and welcome them wholeheartedly into our diverse community."

Items on this shipment included household items, hygiene supplies, baby care items from diapers to cribs, educational material, and toys and activities. We hope it will go a long way in welcoming Omaha’s newest residents as they get settled!
