Treebourne team within Eastbourne Eco Action Network begins mass tree planting scheme
Published on December 12, 2020 by Andrew Durling

Local volunteers have planted close to 2000 trees in Eastbourne over the last few days and many more are on the way!

Further planting sessions are taking place on most days in the run up to Christmas so if you would like to play a part in this fantastic community-led initiative book yourself onto a planting session at Sevenoaks Rec here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/.../sevenoaks-rec-tree...

A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far!

The project is being coordinated by Treebourne, part of the the Eastbourne Eco Action Network, which is aiming to plan 11,000 trees at Sevenoaks Road Recreation Ground followed by a further 3000 at Tugwell Park in the New Year.

Fundraising for these projects has included support from the Trees for Cities charity and the government’s Urban Tree Challenge Fund, East Sussex County Council’s Building Stronger Communities Fund, as well as donations to the Treebourne crowdfunder campaign earlier this year. Local councillors in Langney, Hampden Park and St Anthony’s have also made contributions from their devolved budgets.
