In the year 2023, we managed to hire two employees part time, expand our union efforts to the westside of Chicago, and receive funding to support our efforts.

In 2023, we faced capacity challenges, but with the help of our funders like Crossroads and BASE we were able to sustain our work for the year. We learned about collective cooperative ownership and how we can implement this into our work. We changed as a union by realizing that we are all we have and in order to enact change that is truly for us, we must be the ones who carry out the action to do so. 

In 2024, we plan to put ELTU on the map, meaning increasing our media presence, expand into ELM buildings throughout cook county and surrounding suburbs. During our first quarter of the year (Jan-Mar) we will host an official union training.
