EBDSA SocFem Caucus

The Socialist Feminist Caucus aims to bring a more prominent feminist perspective to EBDSA and a socialist perspective to the Bay Area mainstream feminist movement. In a world that has coopted feminism for profits, we believe in emphasizing intersectional experiences of oppression under capitalism, and in providing a feminist and materialist analysis to better understand and critique current events. Our goal is to propose and advocate for campaigns that especially impact working class women, non-binary and femme of center people of color, such as disability justice, reproductive justice, wage equality, and other economic justice issues. We strive to create a welcoming and accessible spaces for members (especially those less comfortable in a male-majority space) to engage with the chapter. We advocate for education, outreach and community building events that help empower a diverse membership and leadership.
