“This was made as a reaction to the ongoing food-poverty crisis. The image depicts my own experience with food poverty whilst sticking two fingers up to the old Irish proverb “Is maith an t-anlann an t-ocras”- hunger is the best sauce. People experiencing poverty deserve fresh fruit and vegetables. We deserve to be able to cook meals that don’t come in a tin or a jar. We deserve dignity and respect.” - Ciara Lenihan.
