Make Hiring More Transparent By Reporting Employer Ghostings!
About
BooBase - Powered by enterN is a Chrome extension dedicated to bringing transparency to the often opaque job search process. We empower jobseekers by providing a platform to report instances of employer ghosting and to see the "ghosting tendencies" of companies they are considering applying to. Our goal is to foster greater accountability and communication in the hiring landscape.
Key Features
- Ghosting Reports: Easily report when an employer ghosts you during the hiring process through a simple in-browser popup form. (Requires account login)
- Employer Search: Utilize the extension's popup to search our database for specific employers and view their reported ghosting statistics. (No account required for searching)
- Job Posting Overlay: When you open a job posting, BooBase can display a subtle overlay indicating the employer's ghosting status based on community reports.
- Status Levels: Employers are categorized into the following transparency levels based on reported ghosting incidents:
- Ghost-Free: No Reported Ghostings
- Did You Hear That?: 1 - 10 Reports
- Mild Haunting: 11 - 25 Reports
- Just Plain Spoopy: 26 - 50 Reports
- Definitely Haunted: 51+ Reports
- Account & Points System: Create a free account using email/password or Google Account to earn points and unlock trophies for each ghosting report you submit.
- Responsiveness Reports: Help showcase positive experiences by reporting when you complete a hiring process (offer or rejection) without being ghosted.
- Report Updates: If you finally hear back from an employer after reporting a ghosting incident, you can update your previous report.
- Feedback & Suggestions: Easily submit your valuable feedback and suggestions directly to the development team.
- Data Storage: Report data is securely stored and managed using either Airtable or Google Sheets (backend implementation).
- Data Visualization (Future): We plan to introduce visual representations of the aggregated ghosting data.
- Report Table & Filtering (Backend): Access to a backend report table allows for filtering and viewing aggregate information.
- Employer Dispute System (Future): Employers will have the ability to submit a ticket to contest a reported ghosting incident.
- Extension Control: Users can easily stop or close the extension as needed.
- Support Development: Show your support for a more transparent job search by making a donation via Stripe.

Jobseekers in the United States who are looking for greater transparency and shared experiences during their job search.
Prerequisites
- A Google Chrome or Chromium-based web browser.
- To submit ghosting reports and earn trophies, users will need to create an account using an email address and password or their Google Account. Searching employer data does not require an account.
Installation
BooBase will be available for installation via the Chrome Web Store soon. Stay tuned for announcements on our social media channels and job seeker forums!
Getting Started
Once BooBase is installed, you will be redirected to a welcome page on enter-n.com that will guide you through:
- Submitting a Ghosting Report: Learn how to use the extension's popup form to accurately report a ghosting experience.
- Updating a Report: Instructions on how to modify a previously submitted ghosting report if you receive communication from the employer.
- Searching Employers: Discover how to use the search functionality within the extension's popup to find information about specific companies.
- Using the Overlay: Understand how the subtle on-screen icon and job posting overlay provide you with real-time insights.
How to Use BooBase
BooBase provides information and reporting capabilities through a browser action icon and a persistent on-screen icon:
- Browser Action Icon: Click the BooBase icon in your browser's toolbar to open a popup window where you can:
- Submit a Ghosting Report: Fill out the short form with details about the ghosting incident. (Login required)
- Search Employers: Enter the name of an employer to see their reported ghosting statistics.
- View Trophies: See the trophies you've earned based on your contributions. (Login required)
- Share Achievements (Future): Share your earned trophies with others.
- On-Screen Icon: A small, non-obtrusive BooBase icon will be visible on your screen. You can click this icon to quickly access the report form or the search functionality. (This behavior might be configurable in future updates).
- Job Posting Overlay: When you visit a job posting on supported websites (we will expand compatibility over time), a subtle indicator will appear, displaying the employer's current ghosting status.
Future Plans
BooBase is an integral part of a larger vision by enterN to create a more transparent, fair, and frictionless hiring experience for both jobseekers and employers. Future updates and related platforms will aim to:
- Expand compatibility with more job boards and career websites.
- Introduce more sophisticated data visualizations and insights.
- Implement the employer dispute system.
- Develop additional tools and resources to empower jobseekers.

Current Project Status
