Good-bye Royal Bank of Scotland! Hello Open Collective!
Published on March 12, 2021 by Marco Smolla

Since the early days of our Society, we have had a bank account in Scotland. However, as we have become a highly international group of early-career researchers, we needed to find a new way to organise our money. This is why we chose to move to Open Collective with the financial host Open Collective Europe.

This new platform allows us to transparently receive membership dues and third-party funding and spending it for our website operations and workshops. Aside from the added transparency, we no longer require the Treasurer to live in the UK, a prerequisite for all brick and mortar banks.

We hope you like this new way of contributing to ESLR. Thank you all!

Hi Marco! This is Pia from Open Collective - This update crossed my desk and it made me so happy! Making it easier for projects like yours to operate without the hassles of a brick & mortar bank it's priceless. Do you mind if I share the update publicly? Tank you!
