Eye Dropper was created to help me with creating web pages. There was simply no working alternative at the time. Huge amount of users who find it usefull too was completely unexpected when starting this side project. As was number of creative ways to use it. I never imagined somebody needs color from website for something else than web development :)
I strongly believe in free software (and open source) and in personal data and privacy. No data at all are sent anywhere.
