feddit.uk is the largest UK-focused Lemmy instance, part of the open, free and interconnected Fediverse, a group of open source social media services that can communicate with each other using shared standards.

We are fundraising to cover our server costs and domain hosting, which are currently relatively modest, but using Open Collective allows the users to contribute. So everything can be run in a transparent way by the users, for the users, with no single point of failure. This should secure the site, and burgeoning community, for the long term.
