Please Come to a Very Special FNC Distro on Sunday!!!

Marketplace Parking Garage, Burlington
Sunday, March 16th
1:00pm - [shrug]

We will be celebrating 1827 consecutive days of sharing food and company at the wall this Sunday. It's been a wild ride, involving many hundreds of rad people in so many different ways over the years. Nothing is ever perfect, but to see everyone contributing time, labor, funds, mental/physical/emotional support to any community building effort for five years has been incredible. Stuff like this doesn't happen commonly enough, and it's kinda a big deal. So come enjoy some food, company, music, storytelling, art, cider, and whatever you want to bring with you!

Winter Gear/Supply/Fuel Update

Mutual Aid in Burlington stepped up in a huge way following the collapse of Vermont's emergency hotel shelter program, and the resulting mass evictions this fall. Comrades with People's Kitchen have rallied to hold three 10:00pm food and supply distros every week, no matter the weather. These quickly became sites of collaboration between FNC, Street CATS Burlington, and countless other individual contributors moving in solidarity with the hundreds of unhoused neighbors forced to live on the streets in the deadly cold.

Although demands for low-barrier emergency shelter and housing for all went unfulfilled by political leadership, ordinary people came together to sharing many thousands of dollars worth of cold weather camping gear, ice fishing tents, propane heaters & refills, hand warmers, clothing, and more. All of this under the steady surveillance and occasional intimidation of local police, and steady hostility from the local business community. The depth of this state-manufactured crisis is unprecedented, but the community response has been as well. This is what really happens in times of crisis, if you look closely enough. We couldn't thank you enough for your contributions, financial or otherwise. None of this works without every one of us.

Pushing Back

Please stay tuned to for future emails, and/or our social media. We're preparing a campaign to remove the Sheriff's Deputy from the parking garage and likely have a broader public discussion about the Burlington crime narrative and the gap between perceived danger within the community and reality. We've been crunching some of the City's numbers about our beloved crime "hotspot" where we have lunch, and things are not making sense.
