OCF’s Alanna Irving Says Farewell to Open Collective
Published on October 11, 2023 by Sade Swift

We are grateful to you all as you witness our transformation.

Alanna joined the Open Collective ecosystem seven years ago and has been a big part of making it what it is today. She has held multiple roles across the ecosystem, including at Open Source Collective and Open Collective Inc. She became the Executive Director of Open Collective Foundation in 2020.

Over the last seven years, she has made her mark as a champion of distributed leadership, open source software, exit to community, and the growth and values of Open Collective Foundation.

Reflecting on her time with OCF, Alanna said:

“I feel so privileged to have served this amazing community and team. I am deeply inspired by the work of Collectives, and grateful to have been able to contribute to infrastructure that supports them and the solidarity economy movement.”

With her departure, she plans to shift focus to her own communities in Aotearoa, New Zealand (NZ), and will still be involved in the NZ fiscal hosts. You can keep up with her via her website.

We owe so much to Alanna’s vision and commitment over the last seven years, and we’ll miss having her on our team.

Thank you, Alanna. We wish you well on your journey ahead.

We'll be sharing more about our new leadership THIS Friday, stay tuned!

While I am new to the Open Collective Foundation, I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has brought it this far. Thank you Alanna for your leadership. The welcoming and capacity-expansion that we have received since joining the organization is so important! This is great work. All who are involved, especially people who even been involved for seven years like Alanna, should be very proud! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
