Recurring Donors & Dissolution Update for Collectives

Collectives and their recurring donors may have received a notification from OCI (the company that runs the Open Collective platform) today that their recurring donations were paused. Open Collective Foundation did not instruct OCI to send out this message or turn off any features.
Platform contributions will be accepted through the end of the day, until midnight PT.
OCI’s message also included inaccurate information about collectives transitioning to new fiscal hosts on their platform.
It is the fiduciary responsibility of Open Collective Foundation, not OCI, to work with collectives on their plans to transition or close down. Please contact us directly at [email protected]. Emails sent to this address are received by all OCF staff and our Board of Directors. We are available to answer your questions.
We are in contact with the OCI team to clarify our roles and ensure that collectives don’t continue to receive conflicting or confusing information from them moving forward.
