<div>FreeInk is an open-source, hardware-independent SDK for building e-paper reader firmware. It abstracts the display controller, waveforms, pins and peripherals behind a stable facade, so one generic codebase drives multiple devices, and bringing up a new board is a profile and a config, not a rewrite or more code in your firmware. What's in the box: - A small, consistent API across display, input, battery, SD, frontlight, audio and networking - New devices added as data, not code. Pins, geometry, waveforms and voltages as values - Composable builds: touch, frontlight, color and audio gate behind flags and turn on only when a device needs them - Capacitive touch (CHSC6x, GT911), PWM frontlight, WAV-over-I2S audio, and opt-in TLS 1.3 networking - FreeInkUI, an optional immediate-mode UI framework for e-paper, memory-bounded, no heap allocation, host-testable - MIT licensed, no build-time or runtime dependency on any upstream Lineage FreeInk is an MIT-licensed re-architecture derived from the OpenX4 E-Paper Community SDK and its contributors. The panel tuning and waveforms for the SSD1677 and UC8253 panels are carried over and adapted from that community work. What FreeInk changes is the structure: each controller becomes a standalone, compile-time-selectable driver behind a stable facade.  Why support us.
