About
💡 The Story Behind & Purpose The inspiration for Glide & Write sparked from a stand-up routine by the comedian Ahren Belisle. Ahren is non-verbal, but he performs incredibly well by typing on his phone and having the text spoken out loud. This powerful performance raised a critical question: how could a non-verbal person communicate much faster and more effectively, whether in a daily conversation with a doctor, teacher, police officer, or family member?

After pondering this, Glide & Write was developed.
🚀 What is Glide & Write? Instead of wasting time typing letter by letter on traditional keyboards, Glide & Write is an intuitive, accessible, and gesture-based communication application (AAC). The core motivation is to allow users to quickly construct sentences by combining predefined words using very simple hand gestures (swipes on the screen) and read them aloud to the listener with a single button.
🎯 Our Ultimate Goal It is a method that might be hard to learn at first—perhaps it feels like learning a new language—but once users get used to it and build their own combinations, it becomes incredibly fast and effective.
Our mission is simple: if only 10 people in the world who experience speech difficulties use this app at work, with their family, or in a cafe, and are able to live their lives more easily and comfortably, this project will have achieved its goal.
