Published on October 11, 2022 by Eileen S. Ho

Join the #MIBON2023 Project Planning Team to help shape our 2023 MI Bon Summer Festival, a Michigan celebration with our communities through the sharing of Taiko arts and Japanese Obon festival traditions! Our #MIBON2022 Team members (Eileen, Noriko, Kyoko, Rieko, Wendy, Ronna, Romeo, Jessie) are here to share our experience and welcome you to join us in the new year to share in the Joy of making this community event happen.

Volunteer members will meet 1-3 times/month starting JAN-2023 to plan and prepare for our next MI Bon Summer Festival in SE Michigan. Our work and play includes coordinating and collaborating with our GLTC members and local organizations to schedule the festival and related events, evaluate possible venues, create promotional material for local and online distribution, plan for programming with the BBK Team and GLTC Taiko Collective, and invite participation and support from our communities.

If you would like to Join the #MIBON2023 Planning Team, please email [email protected], and we will reach out to you with more information before our first planning meeting. Thank you for your service and support of our community event!

Hi Eileen and MIBon 2023 Planning Team.  It is my honor and pleasure to be helping organize this fun event.  In order to start the planning, we would like probably to know the little more details of the other possible summer events.  I remember Eileen was talking about the opportunities to host three different events this summer.  To start with, I think we can aim the date/time of MIBon 2023 first and from there we can search and check for our venue.
