About
A group of neighbors are running a small bulk buying project to prioritize solidarity and access to fresh local food. This project was started in April 2020 by a group of coop grocery workers, labor organizers, and union supporters.
We order food from regional vendors and distribute every other Wednesday morning from two sites, one in Ditmas and one in Kensington. People who order food can contribute money towards groceries for others or request a solidarity discount. The 35% markup on the bulk farm prices is cycled back to cover the costs for neighbors who are struggling.
While this model covers some of the costs for solidarity orders, we need more consistent funding in order to fully support our neighbors. That’s where you come in! Please consider making a one time or recurring donation to our project. Your entire donation will go directly to covering the cost of farm fresh food to local families.
Email [email protected] or text 347-389-1848 if you have any questions or live nearby and would like to be on the email list to get a notification for the next order form. Options include a box of seasonal organic produce, GMO-free eggs, milk, yogurt, organic meats and tofu, and flour.
