The first sprint to a Minimal Viable Product
Published on May 31, 2019 by Marick Manrho

This is our first update on OpenCollective and we have much to talk about. It pleases me that we can announce that we have hired Robin Dorstijn as a Lead-Developer for the project. Robin will be focusing on the technicalities of the server side. As of yet, he has already done some excellent work on making a running server with some basic API capabilities. The rest of our team has put on their running shoes for the first sprint on the client side of the application. The first sprint works towards a Minimal Viable Product, i.e. the most bare bone version of the GridtNetwork. We aim to have this first version ready by the mid of July this year. Hence you can expect a first release party in August! (more info later).

We put our running shoes to good use and the development is really kicking off. Especially helpful are our weekly coding sessions at the Zernike Campus in Groningen. Every Wednesday we get together in the canteen of the Nijenborgh 4 building for Physics and Chemistry to work on the project collaboratively. Every first Wednesday of the month we offer free pizza. We figured that was the least we could to keep our volunteers happy.

Many exciting things are coming up, but we will save those for a later update.

Greetings,

Marick Manrho (CFO)
