Grocery Cooperative in Progress

Vision: A food system in which a mutually beneficial relationship between the production and consumption of food is restored. 

Primary Purpose: to create a space where people can access a variety of fresh food and have the opportunity to build community and gain a deeper understanding of the labor and environmental impact of the food they consume.

We are working to develop our business model as a mid-size grocery store with a cafe/prepared foods space and a community space available periodically to the broader community. We will operate as a multi-stakeholder co-op and eventually incorporate as a Limited Worker Cooperative Association (LWCA) - more than half ownership will be workers at the co-op, but there will be room for ownership from other community members as well - both consumers and the local producers we will source from. 

We are currently in our ideation/pre-planning stage.
