GNU Guix on Open Collective
About
GNU GUIX is unusual because it can be used both hosted on top of another Linux distribution, or directly as a full GNU/Linux distribution. Key use-cases are:
- package management with thousands of desktop environments, applications and system tools
- home files management to configure user dotfiles and services
- development tools to create repeatable developer environments
- system management to configure and administer desktops, servers and VMs
The GNU Guix project's goals are to respect and enhance user freedom by providing an operating system (under the GNU umbrella) that follows the principles of Free Software. The project aims for a warm, friendly and harassment-free environment so that any volunteer can contribute to the best of their abilities. The full code of conduct in online, and the the Maintainers of the project guide the community.
The Free Software Foundation (FSF) and Guix Foundation are both non-profit organisations that hold assets on behalf of the project. Both accept donations which are used to support the development and promotion of GNU Guix.
- Donations through this Collective are managed by the Guix Foundation
- Donations can be made to GNU Guix through the FSF directly
