Community PlaceMaking

Due to poor city planning, car-infested infrastructure and Euclidean zoning, cities in North America have become desolate. Vast swathes of Dallas-Fort Worth are devoid of any life, any sense of community or relationship to the places, land, and neighbors we live with. 
Inspired by The City Repair's Placemaking Guidebook, other placemaking projects, and the work of Cooperation Denton, we take direct action to combat the deterioration and isolation caused by the multitude of design failures and intentional prioritization of cars in DFW's design. We started in our own frontyard by building a public garden and pond, benches, and sharing space with our neighbors. We seek to expand our scope to build more community gardens, little libraries, food stands, public composting, benches, plazas, bike racks, public art, and much much more! Whatever you can think of that would benefit your community, we would love to work on.
All funds donated to this project go directly to placemaking projects such as those listed above!
