Breathing Together: Learning Journey to Senegal

This January, ImaginAction and Kaddu Yaraax open a new cross-continental collaboration through a week-long devising residency in Dakar (19–25 January). Participants will explore the meeting ground between Forum Theatre, Rainbow of Desire, Theatre that Reconnects, and Dragon Dreaming—working with embodied storytelling, collective memory, and the intelligence of the social field. The process includes site visits to Gorée Island and other significant ecological and historical locations in the Dakar region, allowing place, history, and community stories to organically shape the emerging performance.

The co-created work will be presented at the Breathing Together Festival in Dakar (30 January–2 February). This initiative also launches a long-term fellowship and co-learning pathway, inviting artists and practitioners to invest in sustained collaboration across continents. To keep participation accessible, the residency operates on a sliding-scale contribution of 450–900 euros, supporting both international participation and the continuation of this translocal exchange.
