Through the Spiral

 At ImaginAction, we have been deeply inspired by the pioneering work of Joanna Macy and the Work That Reconnects (WTR). It opened a doorway for our global community to expand our minds, hearts, and wills toward the Great Turning. Building on this foundation, we have been collectively exploring how theatre, storytelling, and social arts can serve as mediums for regeneration — integrating insights from Theatre of the Oppressed, Social Presencing Theatre, free-form play, and embodied practices into a living framework we call Theatre That Reconnects. We are entering a new phase: multiplying the work and inviting new Work That Reconnects practitioners, artists, and facilitators to journey with us.

From May 12–16, 2025, we will host a five-day co-created immersive experience through the Work that Reconnects Spiral — guided by experienced WTR facilitators and emerging facilitators, coaches, and social arts practitioners from around the globe. This gathering will be framed by Theatre That Reconnects and the expanded, decolonial Expanded Spiral developed by Mutima Imani, weaving creative, embodied approaches with deep ecological and social work.
