October Progress Report

Dear Friends,
After four weeks in Iraq, we have accomplished a lot!
- We ran a skateboarding workshop for girls
- Established the loaner board program
- We taught a skate-ramp construction workshop
- We built relationships with our local partners and local officials supportive of the skatepark
Local holidays and the Iraqi elections have meant some delays in breaking ground on the park itself. We anticipate a few more months of delay, since the election just ended yesterday and the bureaucratic process is likely to be slowed. Because of this, we decided to postpone bringing in our building team until later this season. We are poised to return to break ground on the skatepark as soon as possible!
In the meantime, thank you for your support. We still need to raise $10,000 more dollars to make the park the best it can be. Please continue to help us share the project.
