Kicking off Kia Kotahi Ako

Kia ora e hoa mā,
Nau mai, haere mai to the the first of many updates...so many things happening already in this first month! We're taking time to build strong foundations and also show that we make things happen. This whakataukī is one that is really important as we grow: I orea te tuatara ka patu ki waho: a problem is solved by continuing to find solutions.
Our Highlights
1. Our pilot project for WeShare Solar is halfway and students at Haeata Community College have built their own solar panels from scratch.
Their class science teacher said that in all her 20 years of teaching she has never seen 100% engagement like this. It was magic to watch the climate champions and solutionaries of the future. See photo below and watch this space for the video...
2. We had two great EHF Education Solutions calls to update everyone on our work and see how we can focus our efforts as Fellows. We are so grateful for all the amazing support, advice, trust and encouragement to be bold in our vision.
3. Our AimHi planning is underway and we are currently identifying and meeting with key environment and climate groups to see how we can all work together to adapt and share their course. Sarah completed the May course and is buzzing with energy and ideas for how we can spark action through great communication and optimism.
4. We were welcomed to Rangimarie's wonderful learning Pā and saw the vision for how education can be designed for everyone to thrive in the future. We look forward to continuing to learn from their community and see how we can help clear some roadblocks.
Thank you to everyone who has already joined us and we look forward to meeting new partners and supporters. Please reach out with any questions, comments, or for a chat: [email protected]
Ngā mihi mutunga kore,
Sarah on behalf of Jojo, Andrew, Nikora, Louise, Barry, and everyone else who has helped so far.
