About

What is
kidney.wiki?

Launched on 2/19/21, kidney.wiki is a comprehensive, open access medical education resource dedicated to pediatric nephrology.

Original tools include a pediatric CKiD U25 eGFR calculator, adult CKD-EPI eGFR calculator, total body water and body surface area (BSA) calculator (for children and adults), blood volume and plasma volume calculator (pediatric and adult), fractional excretion of magnesium calculator, tacrolimus hematocrit adjustment calculator, and peritoneal dialysis (PD) and hemodialysis (HD) adequacy calculator including Daugirdas equations and standard Kt/V. Find links to other nephrology FOAMed resources and a whole host of other resources, such as the latest nephrology guidelines including KDIGO and KDOQI.

Why do we need kidney.wiki?
In today's fast-paced world, accessing essential information in pediatric nephrology can be a challenge. Valuable content is often locked away behind registration or paywalls, hidden within academic literature, or difficult to locate when time is of the essence. kidney.wiki aims to transform knowledge sharing by consolidating the best available information from various sources and presenting it in a user-friendly, easily accessible format – completely free of charge.

Community supported
We believe in the power of diverse perspectives and open collaboration. While kidney.wiki maintains editorial review to ensure consistency and quality, we embrace the opportunity to present different viewpoints and approaches. In cases where consensus is lacking, we will clearly outline the controversy and offer multiple reasonable solutions. We actively encourage users to contribute their insights and feedback, helping us keep our platform up-to-date and of the highest quality.

Join us on our journey to reshape medical education and empower healthcare professionals in the field of pediatric nephrology.

Welcome to kidney.wiki.
