About
We as a CIC create spaces, events and places to hang out for people with disability and/or mental health challenges. We want people to have a life, not a service, meaning not pre-subscribed activities for someone to just occupy their time. We want to help create the things, people WANT to do and not HAVE to do.
Kintsugi Radio is one of our projects and we want to encourage and inspire people to speak publicly, through the medium of live broadcasting. We Co-host some shows, enabling people with the most profound disability to enjoy this and allow them to express themselves, as a DJ, presenter or interviewer.
We have interacted with well known a DC comic book artist, famous children's novelist, film-makers and BBC screenwriters through exclusive interviews. Plus creating music shows allowing people to express their favourite tracks.
We are registered and report our broadcast music to PPL.
Our goal is to upgrade our equipment, which is currently out of date and not user friendly for people with learning difficulties. We want to update our mixing desk with easier to use sliders. We want to purchase adjustable height desks to enable people in wheelchair and of different height to access the controls. We want to purchase a few more microphones and individually owned mic covers for hygiene. We want to purchase another (basic) PC to store our music tracks and improve the sound proofing of our studio.
