Major Step Towards 4.0.0
Published on June 4, 2022 by Martin Mueller

Dear Contributors,

Thank you very much for your continuing support of OpenCutList. The financial target for version 4.0.0 was exceeded this week! Thanks to the 773 contributors!

We have implemented numerous small features since Version 3.0.0, but there are still some areas for improvement. As posted previously, we have started working on the next release, but we would like to take some time to wrap up the work and have everything properly translated and documented before officially releasing it.

A new feature that will appear in version 4.0.0 is the Export Customization. The columns of the Export can be renamed, transformed and new computed columns can be added. There is a preview, so that you can easily check the result before saving it to a file.

In the screenshot below, the Part and Description columns are concatenated and the result replaces the original Part column.

We wish you all the best!

Hello!
When can a version with custom export of csv be released?
If this version is released, the Ukrainian company "ViYar" will most likely be able to add support for importing a project from your plugin.

Are looking forward to! Thank you!

Regards,
I have a specific question.
In my project, the dimensions of the furniture parts are 508x473x1pc, 478x150x1pc, 412x150x1pc, 2597x510x2pc. All measurements are in millimeters.
The chipboard panels from which they are made are the rest in the workshop and I entered them as Offcuts and they are 2800mmx1030mmx1pc, 825mmx490mmx1pc.
I set the saw cut to 3mm and the trimming size is 0mm.
When I started Cutting Diagram, I got that on the smaller board (825x490x1) I have 3 parts (508x473x1,478x150x1,412x150x1) and on the big board (2800x1030x1) I have parts (2597x510x2 pieces). The question is why on the big board (2800x1030x1) where there were places for parts (478x150x1 and 412x150x1) they were not inserted on it but transferred to another smaller plate.
I tried in Preferred Direction to change all the options but the result is always the same.
Maybe there is some option that I am not familiar with so if you can help me.
By the way, a friend who is engaged in making, i.e. tailoring, plastic panels for PVC carpentry uses a program, and I tried to insert the same measurements with him, and I got the two smaller ones to be inserted on the larger panel.
I will send you photos so you can see more clearly what it is about
pozzz...

The reason for this behavior is that OCL will try to place as many parts as possible into offcuts, if any are available, before using a standard sheet. This should minimize the number of times an offcut is only partially used and has to be stored again.
